on Materials Chemistry, Chemical Engineering

and Process Safety

BASF and the Department of Chemistry at Texas A&M University solicit applications for oral and poster presentations for the BASF-Texas A&M Graduate Student Symposium on July 20, 2017.

The symposium, hosted by BASF, will be held in the Interdisciplinary Life Sciences Building (ILSB) from 8:30 AM-4:30 PM. Breakfast will be provided prior to the event. Registration is free, but those planning to attend must register using the following link:

BASF will sponsor prizes for all oral presentations and for the three best posters, as described below.

The symposium will consist of 6 oral and 50 poster presentations.

The deadline for abstract submission is May 31, 2017. The deadline for registration is June 30, 2017.

Students selected for oral presentations will be notified by June 21, 2017.

Eligibility

For oral presentations: graduate students enrolled currently and past July 20, 2017, and who are within two years of graduation, are eligible for an oral presentation.

For poster presentations: all Texas A&M graduate students and postdocs with substantial Texas A&M research results are eligible.

Submissions are limited to no more than two per research group, with no more than one submission per research group being for an oral presentation. THIS IS A FIRM LIMITATION, IRRESPECTIVE OF GROUP SIZE, WITH ANY ABSTRACTS SUBMITTED BY GROUPS EXCEEDING THIS BEING REJECTED ON THE BASIS OF THE DATE OF SUBMISSION. Accepted submissions that are not selected for a talk will automatically be considered for a poster based on topic and space limitations.

NOTE: Unlike in past years, ALL poster presenters will also give a 1 minute pitch using one slide (submitted with the abstract) at the start of the poster sessions.
